Automobiles made it possible to quickly and efficiently transport goods and people over longer distances, while also enabling the emergence of specialized services and businesses. Furthermore, automobiles productively changed the way we get to medical appointments, and receive medical care in the event of an emergency. Finally, the automobile has provided us with a sense of individual freedom and autonomy. Until the invention and mass production of the automobile, transportation relied on group carriages or expensive private carriages, which had limited seating, prescribed routes and schedules, and were prohibitively expensive.
